ArtBeat - April 27th

Sadly it was the last ArtBeat of the season. We’ll be starting up again in the fall (September & October).

This past Friday was a great night for the ArtBeat.  We had people coming over and checking out my amazing vendors. Most of them had great sales and that made me happy! We had free face painting, a kids craft table and a lot of craft vendors. I had people telling me they were leaving happy with the things they bought. A couple people bought something from almost every booth J
The music was great. Just Alliance opened the night. He’s an amazing loop artist. We really enjoyed his performance. Here’s a  little bit of his performance.

After he was done Big Sam’s Funky Nation started to play some jazz. The m music was good and a lot of people came to downtown Henderson to see their performance. People had fun!

This week we’re featuring two great craft artist. Both had a good night of sales J

My mom.  She has always supported me in everything and is constantly pushing me to move forward.

Make sure you stop by her Etsy shop or contact her if you want one her cute bags and other accessories.

Next featured craft artist is Tim Hamewka. He is such a nice guy. I loved having him at the ArtBeat. Let’s see what said about him and his amazing jewelry work.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
Started out making some jewelry for myself. It basically was a hobby that got out of hand. I’ve lived in Las Vegas since 1977 and retired from the casinos a few years ago.
What do you make?
Handcrafted jewelry. I especially like working with gemstones and kumihimo.
Apart from creating things, what do you do?
When not making jewelry. I enjoy kayaking and mountain biking.
Where does your inspiration come from?
Just about anywhere. Magazines, TV, nature. Sometimes, I will just be driving alone and an idea for a new design will come to me. Sometimes I will just take out some bins of beads and let it develop as I go.
What does handmade mean to you?
Designed and assembled by me.
Who has been most influential in your craft?
Probably my roommate and best friend. She constantly encourages me, gives me fashion advise and such.

Make sure to check his Etsy shop "Creations by Tim" One of his jewelry pieces can make the perfect gift for Mother’s Day. I know your mom will love it!

I also want to share some pics of the rest of the vendors and the event. Hope we can see you in the fall and enjoy the fun with us (Next season will be September and October). I’ll keep you posted with the new dates.
